MSc Student: Emily Heath

Emily obtained a Bachelor of Science at Queen’s University, completing her undergraduate studies in Life Science. As an undergraduate thesis student her research focus was towards earlier detection of Myelodysplastic Syndrome using Next Generation Sequencing. Emily is now a Master’s student at the University of Toronto, Institute of Medical Science. Under the supervision of Dr. Aaron Schimmer and co-supervision of Dr. Benjamin Haibe-Kains she is currently investigating a subgroup of NPM1-mutated Acute Myeloid Leukemia with a unique gene expression signature to validate the presence and prognostic/therapeutic significance.
