PhD Student: Petr Smirnov
Google ScholarPetr Smirnov obtained his HBSc from the University of Toronto with a specialist in Mathematics and Physics, and is currently pursuing his MSc in Medical Biophysics, also at UofT. His research interests are in extracting clinically meaningful discoveries from high throughput pharmacogenomic datasets, and tackling the barriers to translating these discoveries into practice. In addition to his research into machine learning methods for learning from these datasets adapted to the constraints imposed by clinical realities, he works to build tools for making the analysis of high throughput pharmacogenomic studies easier for non-specialists in the field.
