Welcome to the Princess Margaret Genomics Centre

Genomics Solutions for Research

Established in 1998, the Princess Margaret Genomics Centre (PMGC) is a core lab facility providing access to high- quality, cost-effective research genomics services in support of biomedical and translational research. PMGC supports investigators from academic, clinical, and industry research environments at the local, national, and international level. PMGC is a research-only facility. We do not provide clinical diagnostic services or direct patient testing.

PMGC offers a broad portfolio of technologies, including DNA and RNA sequencing on Illumina platforms, epigenomics, panel-based profiling (Luminex and NanoString), functional genomics, single-cell and spatial multiomics. We also specialize in unique and custom techniques that aren’t found at most service providers. Investigators are encouraged to consult with our team to discuss project requirements, including custom assays not listed on the website.

In addition to laboratory services, PMGC provides end-to-end project support, working collaboratively with investigators on study design, experimental planning, technology selection, and sample preparation strategies. This consultative approach helps ensure that each project is matched with appropriate methodologies and produces high-quality, reproducible results.

As a public-facing core facility, PMGC is committed to make cutting edge and emerging genomics technologies more accessible and cost-effective to researchers here in Canada and the world.

PMGC is a 10x Genomics-Certified service provider.

Spatial Omics

Spatial Omics integrates microscopy of tissue sections with readout of the transcriptome, proteins, and more. This allows one to collect information about the positional and phenotypic aspects of the cells whose transcriptional patterns are being interrogated. This novel technology is an extremely powerful extension of conventional histology!
